One Mighty Fine Belgian

So this past weekend marked the completion of the priming stage for my Belgian Dubbel Ale so, needless to say, I trialed my first (and additional) bottles on Saturday night. I can happily say that the beer meets all of my expectations and yielded a very accurate representation of a Trappist style ale, in my mind. I could only hope that famed beer critic who first enlightened the US and UK on the magisty of Belgian beer, Michael Jackson, would approve. On Sunday, I did my first rendition of Renato Canova's "special block." I was a little apprehensive that this was going to be tough to carry out or that it might take too much of a toll on me at this stage of preparation, but actually I was quite happy with the workout other than the fact that I woke up on Monday with a sore calf, no doubt due to the sharp turns at Redbud. So the workout is an am and pm session od 6miles at 80% goal marathon pace/ 6 at goal marathon pace. It can be modified when done multiple times. I warmed...
