Following some low-key alms in the name of St. Paddy yesterday, I was ashamedly pretty useless this morning. I've been having trouble sleeping solidly through the night for a variety of reasons, but in any case I rolled out go see the phlebotomist. Needing to regather, I hit Plaid for a quick hit of caffeine and pastry, then forged on to OTR, to open the store and sneak in a run. Still catching up from the weekend in Dallas, I had a dece time and got about the right amount of imbibment in, without incident. I felt so free- being able to go buy my beer at whatever grocery store was available and stocked with respectable offerings. They do still have dry counties interestingly, so at the county line not more than a few miles from downtown Dallas, there are like 5 stores conspicuously toeing the boundary. I managed to get in a nice long run at whiterock and also logged a few miles on Ardmore Lake Road, both coming and going. Ging and I smoked some dry rubbed chickens and I successfully avoided veggies for the whole duration in exchange for grease and fry oil. I think I'm doing something at the end of the week into early next week, potentially heading to T-town, so if any loyal readers see this, make me an offer I can't refuse. Otherwise I'll be running, drinking coffee on campus, and enjoying what will hopefully continue to be splendid weather.
I'm spreading the gospel in a few other forums. Firstly, I'm going to be remarking to the appeal of Okie fitness advocates, hopefully including crossfitters, at okathletes.com . Additionally, I'm keeping a training log at Fast Running Blog , where there are a few other Oklahomans, namely Jason Butler and Jake Buhler along with some other salty characters. I needed somewhere to tally the training miles so right now it will be this place, although I'm well aware there are probably better online training logs. I'm back to logging some miles, feeling fitter and having good company from Asher, I think his secret is recovering well, utilizing the most comfortable places to sleep and plenty of strides chasing squirrels.
